Alena PETØÍKOVÁ
Écho des études romanes 2015, 11(2):23-43 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2015.014
The aim of this article is to survey expressions that contain a causative meaning in Czech. It emerged that the most efficient method lies in parallel research in corpus InterCorp that makes it possible to proceed from the French causative construction faire + infinitive, an exemplary causative, which is universal and frequent enough to reveal heterogeneous causative contexts. Additionally, there is an attempt to clarify and classify corresponding Czech equivalents. Except for some non-causative expressions, this procedure successfully resulted in four causative types, namely the morphological, synthetic, analytical and sentential causatives. Their...
Il congiuntivo nell’italiano scritto e parlatoItalian
Subjunctive in written and spoken Italian
Eva KLÍMOVÁ
Écho des études romanes 2015, 11(2):45-55 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2015.015
The article deals with the usage of the subjunctive in contemporary Italian against the background of the grammatical rules that determine its usage in standard Italian. The subjunctive is a phenomenon widely discussed and sometimes viewed as dying in spoken Italian because of difficulties that even Italian users meet when learning its forms. Still the usage of the subjunctive permits the speaker to express small differences in modal meanings within both deontic and epistemic modality. At the same time, it is considerate as a perfect and elegant stylistic means that allows the speaker to express different attitudes in regards to what he or she is saying....

La visión infinita en El Aleph de Jorge Luis Borges y en De visione dei de Nicolás De CusaSpanish
Infinite vision in Jorge Luis Borges' El Aleph and Nicolas De Cusa's De visione dei
Maja ©ABEC
Écho des études romanes 2015, 11(2):71-82 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2015.017
Jorge Luis Borges integrated in his work a large amount of metaphysical challenges, especially his obsession with the concept of infinity which is present in almost all of his texts in the form of bookshelves, deserts, branched roads etc. Infinity is, for this Argentinian writer, a dimension which dissolves the reality or which it transforms into another reality, one of neverending multiplications, reflexions, dreams and illusions. In his emblematic short story El Aleph, the thoughts concerning infinity concentrate on the possibility of a human to achieve a complete understanding of the inconceivable universe; thus this understanding is represented...
« Destruction de la langue » dans la première œuvre Dada : des impertinences lexicales à la théâtralitéFrench
"Destruction of language" in the first Dada opus: from lexical impertinences towards theatrality
Mariana KUNE©OVÁ
Écho des études romanes 2015, 11(2):83-96 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2015.018
The paper deals with the issue of signification in Dada creation which is well known for its goal of « abolition of logic », and its literary consequence: structures not respecting the speech acts to the point that they seem to destroy the very possibility of presence of acceptable significations. The author of the paper, suggesting to name these rebel structures « motivation attacks », starts her research from the famous interpretation of Dada activity by Jacques Rivière : « It is impossible for a man to say something that has no meaning » (La Nouvelle Revue Française, 1920), and puts out these main...

The poetry of Liberto Cruz: art and communication
Carlos NOGUEIRA
Écho des études romanes 2015, 11(2):117-134 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2015.020
In this article we try to show how, in the work of the Portuguese writer Liberto Cruz, a compromise is established between the poem as a text free of any ideological imposition, and the poem as a social and political action; between the internal and personal experience of the author, and his commitment to the history of the country; between the self-sufficiency of the poem, and its links to the larger world; between the communication and elevation; between the work's expansion of image and semantics and the communication of feelings, emotions and ideas; and between the textual "I" and the biographical "I".

Karol KARP
Écho des études romanes 2015, 11(2):147-157 | DOI: 10.32725/eer.2015.022
The aim of the article entitled Culture and journey. Vergine giurata by Elvira Dones is to present the role of two key motives, mentioned in the title, which appear in the work of Elvira Dones. They have a great influence on the life of the main character Hana. The culture demonstrates models which should be imitated and limits her individuality. She has to hide her female identity and to become a man, at least in the eyes of society. Leaving Albany turns out to be the only way of liberation. Hana goes to the United States to get to know herself again. The journey has two significations: the first concerns its fiscal dimension; the second is...
